Your friend has 15 years sober but it sounds like he has slipped into a funk. Not sure how exactly to get his life kick-started.
I know, tell him to go apply to work in a treatment center, how's that for an idea? Or maybe he just needs to try some different AA meetings and get involved with a new group, branch out a little and see what kinds of different people he can meet and what they do for fun and so on.
Outside of AA, there is a whole world to explore, he just has to find the motivation to go grab it. He could find an interesting new job, or volunteer somewhere helping people, or even go start his own business doing something he loves. It really all depends on the individual and what they feel their calling is.
Anyway, maybe there is some idea in there that might spark something in your friend. Good luck to both of you and thanks for your comment!

Hi there Robert

Your friend has 15 years sober but it sounds like he has slipped into a funk.
