Overcoming addiction can become an opportunity of sorts....at least it has for me. Thanks for your comment!

I agree, Bill….it’s much more important to focus on the solution and get on with your life, instead of just whining and complaining that you’ve been dealt a bad hand.

Overcoming addiction can become an opportunity of sorts….at least it has for me. 1. That insatiable desire for more is part of the nature or definition of addiction, both in terms of craving and loss of control. I might get an urge for a pepperoni pizza, go buy one and eat it. But I will not buy 5 and keep eating until I am sick and have to go to the hospital for an overdose. I add an urge an satisfied it. An addicts urge, once stimulated is never satisfied. (solution is abstinence, not stimulating the cycle).
2. An addicts physiology and brain chemistry is different. Add drugs or alcohol and the body (and mind) demands more. Why does 10% of the population have this set up within? I don't know. It just is.
I used to ask why me, why can't I use like normal people? Following that line of reavenue was a waste of time. I alwys wantedgreen eyes, I've got blue.Too bad, so sad. I have had to focus more on the solution rather than the origin of the problem.
