Your comment about forgiving yourself is also a big deal I think for a lot of recovering addicts, when we finally forgive ourselves we give ourselves permission to &quot;start living&quot; again I think. I stumpled through my first couple of years of sobriety alone - no support whatsoever - because of the shame I was experiencing.  If anyone SHOULD have had a relapse, it was me.  I never have. After I could work through forgiving myself, your three action steps fell into place (especially number 3).
I am grateful to you and your work.  Hopefully, someone reading your posts will have an easier time of it than I did.
