Spiritual River

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired all the time?

Is your loved one struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, with seemingly no end in sight?

Are you ready to transform your life and get started on a new path, one that is healthy and joyous and carefree?

Welcome to Spiritual River. Life can be exciting again. No matter how far you think you have fallen in life due to your addiction, you can recover. You can find happiness and joy again. You can get back to living the life you are supposed to live.

Spiritual River can help. This website is all about overcoming addiction and transforming yourself into a better person through recovery.

Many traditional recovery programs focus exclusively on spirituality. Here at Spiritual River we realize that the solution is more than that–it is holistic. That’s why we encourage you to explore all areas of your health, including physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual.

This isn’t just some theory that someone dreamed up that sounds nice to talk about–we are actually living this solution and implementing these principles into our daily lives. People are clean and sober today based on these ideas. Struggling alcoholics and drug addicts have transformed their lives based on these ideas.

And what exactly are these ideas? They begin with the fundamental principles of recovery.

“Fundamental” because we have found certain concepts to be universal among people who have successfully overcome addictions.

In other words, if you look at a group of people who are all doing well in recovery, you find certain key principles that are shared among all of them–regardless of which recovery program got them clean and sober.

One of those key principles is the idea of surrender. You cannot recover if you are still trying to be in control, if you are still trying to muscle through your addiction. The harder you struggle, the stronger your addiction’s hold on you becomes.

The solution is to let go absolutely. That means you need to take a leap of faith. This takes real courage.

We have also found that one of the fundamental tools of recovery is inpatient treatment. Most people who are successful in long term recovery got their start at an inpatient treatment center. You know–the traditional 28 day program. While it may not be an instant cure for everyone, it has certainly worked miracles for some.

Another fundamental principle we have discovered is that of personal growth. We have noticed that a person in recovery is either moving forward or they are sliding backwards, but never standing still. The ability to “pause” in your recovery progress is an illusion. The moment you think you have paused, you are actually sliding precariously towards a relapse.

Therefore, one of the most important recovery principles is daily growth. We must keep moving forward and making progress in order to recover.

And this is where the holistic approach comes into play. We are not using “holistic” in some mythical and vague manner here–we are talking about real actions that you need to take every single day in order to become healthier physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. That is what holistic means—treating the “whole” person in recovery.

This is what works. If you become healthier in each of these areas a tiny bit every day, the benefits start to compound. After a few months you look back and realize that you have completely transformed your life. And you never really noticed it while you were living through it, because it was just a tiny bit of growth each day!

Personal growth in 5 different areas–that’s a lot to take on, and we realize that. And that is why we are here to help. Spiritual River lays out a robust solution for recovery that goes beyond spirituality.

If you or a loved one is struggling, the immediate solution is quite simple: Get to inpatient treatment as soon as possible. Everything else can wait, all other details can be implemented later. You need to build a strong foundation now, in a safe environment.

You have to start somewhere. Inpatient treatment is the best possible step towards this new life in recovery. Anyone can do this, all it takes is a willingness to say “yes, I will get help.”

A life of joy, peace, and serenity awaits. Are you ready to transform your life? Welcome to Spiritual River…..may your journey begin today!
