I'm a S/A counselor at a long term-residential Tx facility and am a grateful member of Alanon.
What you say makes sense for the treatment of my clients and especially for me.
It helps tremendously me to stay educated and keep a healthy perspective on my current role in my clients' lives. Breathe, Balance and Boundaries. A great combination for a caring counselor.
Thank you for your service!
Best Regards,
Tom

I’ve been following your site and am astounded at how insightful your approaches are.

I’m a S/A counselor at a long term-residential Tx facility and am a grateful member of Alanon.

What you say makes sense for the treatment of my clients and especially for me.

It helps tremendously me to stay educated and keep a healthy perspective on my current role in my clients’ lives. Sounds like you have a lot of growth planned out ahead of you. Keep your eyes open for new experiences that you were not counting on, too. Sounds like you are well prepared for those new experiences by embracing gratitude so fully.
God bless....

Hi there GeebeeEmm, thanks for the kind words.

Sounds like you have a lot of growth planned out ahead of you. I have been sober for 32 days today and have been loving it every single day. I am still trying to figure out if I am a problem drinker or an alcoholic, but regardless, sobriety is what I want along with a better life. To get that I need to work on EVERYTHING. I need to get back into shape, set some goals, stop smoking (2 days free today!), focus on my happiness and that of my family and friends - practice EXTREME GRATITUDE every day for the wonderful life I have been given. I will still follow AA's 12 Step Program to develop my emotional and spiritual self. This site has taught me so much already - most importantly that there is much more than ONE method to recovery and happiness. Peace and love to you all.

Wow, this site has truly opened my eyes to “productive recovery”.
