    Woohoo, Sylvane, you're rockin' it!!

Unfortunately, the only exercise I've been getting in is chasing around, picking up and putting down my toddler. However, she weighs 28 pounds and it's been 97 degrees out every day for about a week now, so I've been sweating plenty while doing it! lol I've also been keeping a pitcher of water in the fridge and I've noticed that I'm going through at least 2 pitchers a day, which is awesome for someone who somehow forgets that she's thirsty sometimes. lol

I hope you all have a great day!!

Hi Sylvane! I spent 3 hours in our 4-acre yard on Saturday picking up tree limbs from the big storm we had on Thursday! I'm giving myself credit for that day because afterward it felt like I did the 30-Day Shred with Jillian. haha We lost power Thursday afternoon and didn't get it back (at home) until late Friday night. I'm not sure if I was ever so thankful for running water and a shower. lol

I do a little bit of something every day, but not enough for me to qualify it as a workout. That, however, definitely qualified.

Hope everyone has a great day...

Thanks for your inspiration Sylvane. I read all the posts everyday and when I have 10 successful days in a row under my belt, I will begin to post regularly. At this point of my participation on this forum I want to be good news for others - but I want you - and all the others who regularly post your successes and how much better life is sober - to know how important that is to me - so congratulations on your fitness routine - and thank you for continuing to give all of us hope!

Poor Sylvane! We all left you on your own here! Congratulations on your full week!!

We went for a walk last night. Finally got a break from the 105-degree weather... whew, it was so hot you didn't even want to move. Didn't HAVE to move to break a sweat. lol Now 85 feels like spring weather.

Sylvane. You are inspiring. Keeping on keeping on, even though everyone has deserted you on here. Lol. I just started week three of not drinking. I am not quite ready to crank it up a notch and start exercising, but that is coming. Erin, glad to see you posting. I miss your posts....and your jokes you used to leave on the other thread.

On april 30, I weighed 169. Today-162.5. I was looking back through forum posts and noticed that I mentioned I weighed 155 on 9/20 of last year. I am mad at myself for almost gaining 15 pounds since then, but glad I am finally motivated to get it back off, plus bunches more. I am 5'4" and need to get down to at least 145 to be in healthy BMI range, but ideally would like to get under 135. I haven't been under 150 for at least 10 years, so this will be a true challenge and take serious commitment. So, in addition to the 30 day exercise challenge, I am adding the challenge to lose an additional 9 lbs by end of that challenge and a total of 28 lbs by August 16. Ultimate goal: 134.5.

Thanks for letting me bore you all with this, but I wanted to get this goal down here so you all can help keep me accountable.

While walking this week and other quiet times, I've repeated over and over in my head: I will exercise, I will eat right and I will not drink. I think this helps keep me on track.

P.s I just realized 28lb= 2 stones. I look forward to throwing those stones off. Lol

Ok, i weighed 164.5 this morning, so i have officially made NO progress on goals set forth above in early May! Why oh why is it sooooooo hard to take care of ourselves????? Very frustrating.

Good afternoon... Sylvane, you've made more progress lately than any of the rest of us (combined), so don't beat yourself up too much! Just don't let it slide for too long because we all know how hard it is to get out of that funk.

Today is my mom's birthday. She would be 61. Missing her got me thinking about my goals for this year. One of them was to get healthier - for myself, to set examples for my daughter, and to be around for her for as long as possible. I'm pretty tired of the crappy food I continue to eat. That's kind of an addiction in itself - you know it will make you feel bad, you know it's bad for you, but you still give in and eat it anyway. And I'm getting really good at making excuses for not getting up and moving. On top of that, some of my best thinking and energy comes from exercise. Today, I got up when my alarm went off, went on a 2-mile jog/walk, came home and showered, got my little girl up, and we shared a veggie omelet with whole wheat bread. So... Day 1. I'm back on the wagon. lol

Hope to hear from the rest of you soon!!

Also... a friend of mine keeps dropping off veggies, which I absolutely love him for. lmao But I have a TON of zucchini... if anyone has any recipes aside from stir-fry or zucchini bread or cookies, I'm open to hearing them! Thank you!!

Oh, now I'M the Lone Ranger here. lmao

Day 2 - only a mile and just a walk today, because it actually rained for a few minutes here! Gasp! Haven't seen that stuff in a couple months. I have a really hard time wanting to do much more than walk when it's 102 degrees out, but I have a friend that motivates me and keeps me on my toes, and I will be stepping it up soon.

I found a recipe online for 'zucchini spaghetti' - basically, shredded zucchini with spaghetti sauce on it. Didn't even say to cook it! Not sure how it'll be, but that's what's for supper for me tonight. lol! I'll keep you posted on how that goes down...

    Have a great evening, all!

I love the stirfry, just getting tired of it. The spaghetti... it was OK, probably something I'll either not try again or try a different way... it was basically spaghetti sauce with a crunch. lmao The fritters sound yummy! Of course, my mom made some awesome fried zucchini, and it sounds great, but yeah, deep-fried probably defeats the "eating healthy" part. I did go to AllRecipes first! Love that site. But I found a couple good ones on Pinterest. Ever heard of Zucchini Cobbler? Me either, but it's supposed to taste like apple cobbler.

At least you got something in! How are you doing otherwise, my friend? Message me!

Sylvane, you are just amazing! Hula hoop last time I tried I was hard pressed to keep it going even for a minute. You own a bikini?! Good for you. Not me.

Seriously though, your commitment to continuing to exercise is awesome! I usually manage to do my 2 days a week of circuit training but that's it. Three cheers for you!

I started the 30-Day Shred (Jillian Michaels) from the beginning last Tuesday (the first time I tried it, it was on OnDemand and I didn't start from the beginning). "Lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days!" says the front of the DVD. Today is Day 7 for me, and I am down 5-1/2 pounds and counting. I didn't want to post from Day 1 because it is SO AGGRAVATING to start and then lose motivation, and then have to admit that and start all over again. lol I feel great, and I admit the heart attack scare did have something to do with motivating me. I kept thinking, he is even active, how do I expect to escape the same problems? So here I go.

My goal is to see how close to 20 pounds in 30 days I can get (not actually hitting that 20 pound mark is also OK with me). I am up by 5:30 every morning and actually enjoying it this time around. The healthy eating part is easy, I love my veggies. Once I start seeing results, it all falls into place.

Happiness is not about what you have in your life, or WHO you have in your life, it's a gift you give yourself. If you can't make yourself happy, it's hopeless to try to find it in anyone else. I even do the stuff that I find kind of stupid - looking at myself in the mirror and saying I'm beautiful, referring to myself as a good person in conversations... things that I seem to forget when I feel like what I'm doing is never satisfactory to others. I've given up trying to please anyone outside of myself, save for my little girl.

I'm in no way trying to start a political discussion, but you may have noticed that the Republican VP nominee Paul Ryan is in excellent shape. I heard on the news that he has 4 to 6 % body fat from doing the P90-X program every morning. The reporter did not give a lot of details about his diet other than to say he only eats sweets on rare occasion. I thought it was worth mentioning and I am definitely going to check it out!

Ken, they call it "Insanity" for a reason. Just saying. However, I am positive that if one was able to stick to it and do that workout, one would see amazing instant results. I have to admit that I am NOT there yet.

Today is Day 9 for me. No more pounds off, but none gained, either, so today is a success. (Would have been, anyway.)

Erin, I watched the online video sample and it looks brutal! I'm not ready for that level either, although they claim there are 3 levels for every exercise and that even beginners can handle it. Yeah, right!

Hello Ken, Erin, Sylvane, Carol & Sue,

Just finished a quick work out and feeling good. Been a little off lately and figured I would start up another 30 day challenge. Plan on making it a morning routine this time, so just went and set the alarm clock.

    Take care, Todd

I also decided to start my days earlier and try to get in a walk before my bike ride. I'll check in tomorrow to let you know if that worked for me!
