While I've been doing bare minimum, I need to step up my game (intensity and duration). I lost 11 lbs, but then got kinda stagnant. Didn't gain anything back...yet, but I would still like to be much healthier than where I am at. As much as I hate the gym, especially going by myself, the cold dreary days are keeping me from getting my cardio in as much as I need. Also I need to work on making room for my new workout area down in the basement, course part of that is saving up for another TV to hook up. I think my tailbone is finally healed up enough, so I also signed up for Level 3 again for the pole dancing class, no way I'm moving on to level 4 after taking months off, I'd drop myself on my head (it really does work your muscles, coordination, flexibility and builds esteem when you nail a move down) All I know is that last year I watched some pole dancing competition (professional, not a strip club!) and remember thinking, wow...they are in awesome shape, not skinny, but healthy and strong.

So off I go, into the yucky grey day to sweat it on out with a bunch of strangers...

Good lord, has it really been a month since this thread was used? Seriously? Well, we'll have to change that.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello... I've been around, just haven't been posting. Trying to get my affairs in order. I finally stopped putting it off and got my gall bladder out on the 16th and have recovered well. Still a little sore, but I think I'm fine now. Time to get on track. That was the beginning of me "turning over a new leaf," so now I have no more excuses! I'm not in a wonderful place right now, but I do have a plan, and I will be happy soon... if that makes sense!

Anyway... to my friends that have been checking on me - Billy, Ken, Kevin and Carol - I received all of your messages (thank you) and you WILL receive a reply. I really appreciate that you thought of me and soon I'll be contributing on a regular basis again... promise!

    Take care, all!

    Erin,
I have been MIA. I haven't really been on here at all. And, I can tell...weight creeping back on, no exercise, etc. I am glad to hear you got that gallbladder out. I am ready to start another exercise challenge when you are. Dragonfly, are you still checking in????

Millie... tomorrow is February 1st... I'm ready to stop with the excuses and make tomorrow my Day 1. Are you with me???

It seems like if I can get the exercise going, everything else starts to fall into place. It's just the getting it going part I'm struggling with!

Hi Molly! Glad you're joining in! Yeah, that's pretty much it - 20 minutes a day, every day, for 30 days.

OK, I'm in ... going to try Zumba tomorrow. I've heard that it takes 30 days to form a new habit - let's do it!

Erin, I just finished day 1, too. Feels great. 1.4 miles on treadmill in about 21.5 minutes.

Quick reminder of 30 day challenge rules for newbies:

Minimum of 20 minutes everyday, no exceptions.

Can be any kind of exercise: tapes, walking, running, biking, weight training, swimming, hard manual labor (such as rigorous yard work, woodchopping, etc.).

If you miss a day for any reason, even a good one, you have to start back over on day one.

We can do this. I am thrilled to see so many folks joining in. Very motivating.

Erin, Sylvane, Molly, Beth, Millie and Sue! Here's to day 1, far less challenging than other day one's I've had, but that's a topic for another forum! Thanks for making me smile Sylvane - good luck with those 5lbs. I just returned from a 20 minute walk through the woods, and my dog is beyond thrilled. Now off to try Zumba - wish me luck. I'm trying to make this new habit fun .... we'll see. It will help to have to be accountable to you all, so thanks for being here!

by the way, anyone heard from Dragonfly? Hope she's doing well .....

50 minutes - brisk walk for 3 miles!

I tried some Zumba classes last year and it was really fun! Quite the workout!

I walked to my dentist today - only to find out I have about $3000 worth of dental work coming up. So I met the 1st day requirement and the exercise helped me de-stress from the bad news. I'll report back in tomorrow. Headed to the coast this weekend - I'm looking forward to meeting my 30 day challenge on the beach!

I am so sorry to hear about the dental work news.. Bummer. Exercise on the beach sounds great, though!!!

Last time I did this challenge, I couldn't wait to report in on here as soon as I got it done each day. I am looking forward to everyone keeping me motivated to stay on track. I feel good about starting again.

    Good night all

    Hi Erin,
I also had my gallbladder out though it was many years ago. I hope you are feeling/healing well.
