    Hey everyone,
I've got to restart. I just got back from vacation and failed to stick to exercise plan. I probably got my "exercise" in inadvertently by walking around the city, but feel like I need to restart, to ensure it is conscious committed effort. I did try to stick to Atkins and, although I wasn't perfect, I did better than if I had free reign to eat whatever I wished...

Still, I regained the 2.5 lbs I lost last week, so must do better.

I am glad to some others are on Atkins now too.

Since I am not part of the nonprocastination crew, I've decided tomorrow will be my new day one, as I am feeling jet lagged today.

    What happened to Erin????

Good to see you back Millie - never quit quitting can be applied to a lot of good things in our lives

Ken - I'm so happy to see your update!! Great job sticking with it. I've added non-procrastination (get 'er done already) to my list this time around. It helps to put it out there and commit.

Sue - geez, standing at work? Let us know how that goes. Good luck with the running - wear good shoes

ww3 - Atkins can be a great start to a new eating plan - good luck! Potatoes are so yummy with butter, sour cream, bacon bits, chives .....

Todd - how's that elliptical working out?

I'm off on another adventure, so will be off the grid for a few weeks. I expect to see glowing health reports when I return

Best to all my friends here ... stay strong, be good!

    Hello Everyone,

I've been doing good on my non-procrastination routine. Today's I had to postpone the one I wanted, which was going to a face to face SMART meeting (I've been doing the online ones). I don't think I'll go regularly because its too far away really, but I want to at least check it out. There was huge traffic back up though. By the time I got out of it I wouldn't have made the meeting.

I ended up buying an edge trimmer instead and did the sidewalks when I got home. Unfortunately it kicked up a rock while I was doing it and hit some ladies car window. I doubt my insurace will cover that, so was a pretty expensive day. What can you do though.

Julie, I really am liking the elliptical. I just got a used one which was a Shcwinn. It was in good shape. The guy I bought it off, said he used it for about a year. I checked reviews at www.allellipticals.com. It had good recommendations for being well built and a good value, so I figure it will hold up well.

I do need to build up some endurance though. It's been a long time since I used an exercise machine. I started out at about five minutes, which was enough. I did a little more than ten minutes today. Its a very good workout though. I supplimented it with walking time too for now. Once I get where I can go longer I plan to start a morning routine. For now since I am splitting between that and walk or bike, its easier to do in the evening.

I did a 30 day cleanse diet a few years ago with my wife. I forget what it was called, but I heard about it on yahoo, something Opera and Tom Cruise did at the time. The basic idea was it was all Vegan, no alcohol or caffine, no processed foods, plus no gluten, so no pasta or bread. My mom is vegatarian so I like that kind of food being used to it, I was trying to quite drinking at the time and I don't drink caffine anyway, so for the most part it didn't bother me much. No bread or pasta was the worst part by far, for me. I definately don't envy Julie (ww43) and Millie on that Atkins.

    Take care, Todd

    Hello everyone,

15 minutes on elliptical, mowed lawn too, which is plenty of exercise for me. Checked off two anti-procrastination items. The longer I'm doing that the more picky I am getting on what actually counts, so I made up a list today of ones that count. I put time stamps quite a few too, that only count if done by date.

Hope everyone is keeping up, just busy for the weekend.

    Take care.

Hi Sylvane, That is just freaky with the snake story. It's funny how our natural instincts go sometimes. Glad nothing bad happend with you and you dog.

I got about half a workout's worth after work. Baseball game for the boys cut it short. Off to finish up the second half now.

    Take care everyone.

    Hi everyone!
I had to have minor surgery on my leg so I had to take a day off here and there. Injury was actually related to my running but I will be fine. I am working out daily again as of last week so today is day 8 for me. Good to see you guys are still going strong and good to see Millie back!

Hi Sylvane, Your pretzel post inspired me to have a bag of chips. lol.

    Kat, 8 days yeah!

Julie (ww43), My wife has been doing the WW too. I think its probably better in the end, since its essentially about balance (and portion sizes). You may not loose as quickly as with some other methods, but chances to keep off are probably better. If you haven't seen it yet, there is a phone app "fooducate" that you can scan barcode, if you have an iPhone or Android. They have to call them by a different name, but it give you the WW points for anything you scan. They have website too.

Hi Sue, (regular) Julie, Mille, Ken & anyone else if your reading along.

I got some elliptical time in tonight. Wife was out for the evening so had to work around a bit with dinner, homework, etc. with the boys. Off to walk the dog for a bit now. Still haven't missed a day on my non-procrastination routine. Today was a little weak though, only spray weeding the yard. I will probably clean up in the basement or find something else on my list, when I get back from my walk.

    Take care all, Todd

I'm here, I'm here... been active most days, even (even yesterday, when it was 95 degrees out)... just not sure how many days in a row at a time. Get tired of starting over repeatedly, way too preoccupied with other things going on right now, so I just stopped counting. I apologize to those of you who have written me and I haven't replied. I've had more than one person say they can't send a message because I have no room, but I don't have any messages in my inbox/outbox. I don't know what's going on there.

Anyway, just having an extremely hard time finding ambition. But I'm here reading just about every day... thanks for checking on me!!

All the exclamation points after your sentences always makes me smile, just saying. lol

Yes, I have. I currently have 2 messages in my inbox, not a thing in my sent! I'll try sending one and see what happens.

Hi Sylvane, I had a picture of a medicine ball in my mind. Now I can correct that image.

Hey Julie, Glad your here. Hope you settle back into a healthy routine soon. My boys are young still, so I don't get to share in you frustration factor of a teenager in the house, yet.

Hi Erin, Nice to see you name.

I got 20 minutes in earlier. Going to walk the dog now. Thinking about adding a morning workout time. Wasn't able to will myself out of bed in time this morning though, lol. I do have an alarm clock, but it never occurred to me until just now to set it.

    Take care,

Was really not feeling like working out tonight when I got home (and slept in so skipped it this morning). Did it anyway earlier and felt much better, for not putting it off. Is early enough still, so will take the dog an a long walk too.

I'm back! And see that things are slowing down a bit .... let's keep it up folks! Todd, Sylvane - how are you guys doing? Todd - I'm back to my procrastination challenge and actually powerwashed and planted my outdoor pots yesterday. It really looks nice and inspires me to keep going on other stuff I've let go in my drinking days. Hope you're getting back on that elliptical and figuring out how to use that alarm clock!
Sylvane - you good? Have you added weights to your routine yet? I'm thinking of consulting a trainer to get an in-home "program" in place that I might actually do. Maybe making that appointment will be my anti-procrastination accomplishment for today!

Millie, Erin, Julie, Ken, Beth, Fiona?? you guys OK?

Take care everyone ... keep fighting the good fight!

Hi everyone! I just thought I'd check in. I wrote out a post on Friday and lost it before it posted. Anyway... my little family and I have been taking walks just about every night. I can honestly say I've been doing something active more days than I haven't... but I can't say how many days in a row because I haven't been counting. lol Something is better than nothing, I suppose...

I know I can say this here and every last one of you will know what I'm talking about... I've been running into a few situations lately where I do something I know better about, and then afterward I feel like, "When will I ever learn???" It's sort of aggravating to say the least. It doesn't matter what the scenario is, for some of you it's drinking... for me, it's associating with people that bring me down and make me feel like crap. Today I've had it, I don't want it to happen again, so I've taken steps to stop it. I guess, like drinking, I always think, "this time will be different." WRONG! I've also kind of reached my limit on feeling like a doormat. Last night I firmly put my foot down at home, stood up for myself, and it felt good. It only took me 30 years to figure out the only person looking out for Erin is Erin.

Sorry for the rant! I feel better for letting that go. Maybe I should keep this feeling in mind at 5 AM so I get my butt out of bed and exercise.

Have a great day, everyone! Let's get this thread moving again...

Good morning! Our little family went for probably a three mile walk last night... a three mile walk. Sorry... for those of you who get the Bob & Tom Show on your radio stations, this morning they were talking about Gilligan's Island. lol Anyway, we parked on one end of town and ended up at the college arboretum on the other end of town, walked through there and showed my 1-1/2-year-old daughter the geese, frogs, fishies... she loved it. There was a little stone cabin in the back and I thought I could so live here, pick nuts and berries, separate myself from the world. lol I'm pretty sure they don't rent out places to live in the arb, though.

Everyone, have a great day! Life is good.

Let's go, Sylvane! Maybe if we take extra-nice care of the grounds, they won't even care that we're there!

LOL! Nope, but we can make do. I'll call Bear Grylls, he'll guide us in the right direction! Except this girl is not eating bugs.

Woohoo, Sylvane!! I'm working from home today, chasing the little one around... it should count as exercise, it sure is exhausting! LOL I'm going to try to get something a little more legitimate in later.

Hope everyone has a great day!!
