Salty foods are my downfall, too. I was glad I got up and got it done last night, but it "woke" me up and I ended up having trouble going to sleep. Lol.
It is supposed to rain today. I may have to make a trip to the gym. We will see. Have a great day folks.

Day 4 of the challenge, Millie I would love to lose 30 pounds too. So you're probably right about the 60 days
. It is said it takes 8 to 14 days for something to become a habit. So we are well on our way in the fitness challenge!
Unfortunately I can't say the same about my sobriety... Back on day 1. I can't believe I let one insensitive person get in my head so much! But this morning I wrote a whole page in my journal about him so I am hoping that takes care of that. I will be avoiding the main thread as well. It just doesn't make sense that someone on this journey can be so righteous...forget it. I have my own issues. Enjoy the day everyone.

Beth, good job staying on course with challenge even though you are back on day one of not drinking. I think exercise helps a ton. The more I do it, the more I want to be healthier in general. I also think it is a good idea to stick to this thread when the main one gets on your nerves, instead of leaving for good!!!

Day 4 - 60 minutes on the recumbent bike - check! And I'm down a few lbs already (from avoiding that salty food!!!!)
Sylvane - I'd love to add weights to my routine and am going to give that a try next week when I'm back at the gym. And I'm with you for another 30 if we stay the course for this one. I read that it takes 66 days for a new habit to take (but I also read 30 days, 5 days, one year etc) 66 seems to be in the middle
Millie - good grief, getting up out of bed when you're snuggled in for the night is extraordinary commitment! I didn't really feel like going to the gym today, but thought about your choice and went anyway, so thanks.
Beth - day 1 is better than drinking, so keep it up! I look at my calendar and have more days sober than not this year, so I hold on to that success as opposed to kicking myself for any relapse. Stick with us and never quit quitting. And Jillian at any level is impressive to me.
Morgan - keep it up!
Sue? How's it going today?
-
OK, didn't mean to overlook Erin .... did you get your time in today??
And, Sylvane, are you really Jillian in disguise or something? You are so good, already thinking about getting us to a more intense goal ... yep, let's get it done .....

Hi guys, thank you for the encouraging words. Julie I did look back at the past weeks and felt proud of more sober days than drunk..... Huge for me! No Jillian today, a little sore. So my dog got a nice walk tonight! That's what I should have done yesterday instead of drink because I was bored! Oh well, I am definitely learning. I really feel good now...exercise does help Millie! Sylvane you made me chuckle
my arms need a lot of work before Spring... As well as my behind.... Now when I put on my workout clothes, my kids look at me in amazement and say " wow mommy your butt is really big" haha from the mouths of babes.
-
Nothing like waiting until the 11th hour----literally. I finally got my workout in, finishing at 11:25 pm. Good grief. I definitely need to ge this out of the way in the morning.
And no, I don't care to talk about jiggle arms and big butts..... Perhaps one day when o can say... "I know it is hard to believe, but i used to have". Lol
-
Julie, I don't think Erin has access to the forum over the weekends. We will have to wait til Monday for her report.
-
Wow, Millie, way to get it in under the wire ... you should have just kept it up for another half hour or so and knocked off today's 20 minutes too! Beth, keep it up! At least you're putting on those workout clothes and being a great role model for your kids.
I got my time in early today, so day 5 - check. Worked my arms at the gym because of that comment from Sylvane. I want to wear a cute dress (sans sweater) for my daughter's high school graduation in June - several 30 day challenges to get there! I really, really didn't want to go, but though about checking in here and put myself on autopilot.
Keep going everyone - we will feel better if we keep it up!!

Freedom Day: 12/25/11
Checking in to report a rare winter bike ride in the frozen tundra. Over 9 miles, more than an hour. Now for a nice cup of Chai tea!
-
Got it done today, too. I walked outside..in the daylight.lol. Gorgeous day today...in the seventies. Strange February we are having... No frozen tundra here.
-
John, I am looking forward to you joining us tomorrow.

Day 5 already?
seems like we just started. Wasn't up for Jillian again so went for a long walk with the dog. Being outside is working wonders on my state of mind. A brisk 35 here but feels good. Good night all.

Checking in on day 6, yah! Another long walk with the dog....with a lot of running as the dog chased the kids on their bikes! That was a sight to see
A little over an hour. Extra bonus, worn the kids out too
We will all sleep well tonight.
Where's the rest of the troops? Check in guys.
-
Hey Beth, great to see you here tonight! Aren't you lucky to be able to follow your kids on bikes .... I miss those days. Sylvane, good job on getting out there when you probably feel like throwing in the towel... finding a new job in this economy is definitely a challenge - I'm sending you positive energy. Millie, did you get your 20 in today? Sue? Erin - where are you??
I came home tonight at 8, after a very busy day, and did not want to do anything other than change clothes, put my feet up and eat (well, have a drink too, but nope, no more). I forced myself to take the dog out for 30 minute walk, just so I could come back and post: day 6 - check!!! Let's keep it up!

Freedom Day: 12/25/11
I couldn't sit still after reading your posts this evening, Sylvane, Julie, Beth! checking in after 20 min on the elliptical trainer! Thanks for inspiring these lazy bones.

WOW! Look at how this forum has taken off in the past week... AWESOME!!!
I was so excited I just had a near miss... almost spilled my coffee all over my keyboard. Whew.
I'm on Day 7... I don't get online when I'm at home, so almost never on weekends, and I called in yesterday. Just needed one more day away from work.
We've been having some very unseasonably warm weather, too, so I like to take my little girl out and let her explore. She's getting independent now, she doesn't want to hold Mommy's hand, she just wants to GO! And man, does a little fresh air make a baby want to nap. Mommy too.
Soooo happy to see all of the people that have joined the challenge, and very proud of all of your progress! I for one can already feel the happy feeling coming back. John, I am still fighting hitting the snooze button, but it is getting easier day by day to remind myself of MY time. Just like everything, much of the problem is that I am a creature of habit, and habits are hard to break. Change is hard, but it's usually worth it!
Have a great day, everyone!!

Yay Erin! I was wondering where you were yesterday.
. I haven't done today yet, but will. I am having trouble getting it done first thing.
