And I agree that Steve Pavlina's website is incredibly valuable, probably much more so than Spiritual River is even. But most addicts and alcoholics need to start here before they can "get there."
It sounds like you are doing just awesome, Oliver. Many blessings to you. Take care.

@ Oliver – WOW that is an amazing testimonial, thank you so much for sharing!

And I agree that Steve Pavlina’s website is incredibly valuable, probably much more so than Spiritual River is even. I think i was cut out to be an alcoholic from the very first time i took a drink
By my 23rd, i had drunk away everything i had ever worked for in my life, my material possessions, friends, family and inevitably career. i would start out on job with so much enthusiasm and performance only to walk into walls courtesy of my alcoholism and intolerance for sound advice and rules, but i always found another job almost immediately after ( I work in I.T)
By February this year, i was a well beaten man...wishing only for death, i had lost it. in living this life i saw no profit. i was a shadow of my former self only wishing for the good old days, my misery continued until may this year when i finally gave up the bottle and committed my self to a life of continuous improvement, by going back home to my parents for 'home rehab' and supervision.
patrick, you gave me the hope that i could start over again, from the material on this site you gave me a second chance at life. today i mark 4 months of sobriety and i cant stop wondering how so much transformation can be possible. it is also from this site that i got a link to steve pavlina's site to push me with personal development.
i now can afford to dream, and look to the future, am getting back my friends and my career is now back on track and i hope to join graduate school next year. thank you spiritual river for being a fountain of hope and encouragement when every one else gave judgment and condemnation.

Iam oliver, a 24 year old ugandan. by 23 i was a full blown alcoholic i had spent 5 years struggling with alcoholism, pills and drugs despite coming from a supportive family. my family did everything it could to see me get out of my mire to no avail.<br
